How do Apprenticeships work?
Whilst learning the skills of the industry with an employer you will complete an Apprenticeship framework including individualised training. Most training is 'on the job' at your employers premises but some of the training can be carried out 'off the job'. Typically, you'll spend one day a week at the Institute, although this may vary according to the Apprenticeship you take.
Fancy the idea of learning while you're earning?
Getting paid while you learn might sound too good to be true, but as an Apprentice you'll do just that! You'll be doing a real job for a real employer, Apprentices are employed and are paid a wage, so you'll be like any other employee, but you’ll also be learning at the same time.
What are NVQs?
QCF (Qualification Credit Framework) & NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) are designed around the skills people use at work and cover all types and levels of work. Below is an illustration of the progression routes available from an Apprenticeship.
